I am entering a recipe contest and this is my submission. It is not vegan, although I will be creating a vegan version. I tried, but couldn't get it just right. It needs more work. When I do, I will share the recipe, because I think it will be delicious. This was delicious in a non-vegan way, but I am not really tempted by that type of food anymore.

These are my beans soaking for sprouting. I just wanted to share a simple trick with about sprouting.. knee high panty hose. I just secure them with a rubber band on an type of jar and use it as the screen for rinsing. I have the screw on lids for sprouting as well, but I sprout so many things that I run out of wide mouth jars, so this is what I do.

ReplyDeleteThe mac 'n cheese looks awesome - can't wait for the vegan version! Sprouting is on my list of things to do, so thanks for sharing your tip.
ReplyDeleteRight now I can't imagine anything more delicious than chipotle mac without cheese. I do hope you perfect your vegan recipe of it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you and your hand. I hope it heals quickly.
Go sprout, you!!! That macaroni & cheese with chipotle looks spicy good! Will hope for the best for you with the recipe contest (WIN!!!) and i also look forward to the vegan version that you'll do a fab job with, no doubt. Cool, Melody!!
ReplyDeleteTHat chipotle mac & cheese loks magnificent. I prefer the pasta with little ridges (which you used); it holds the sauce better.
ReplyDeleteI also make my sprouts in a jar and use either cheese cloth or an old (clean!) knee high. Fun to sprout frugally!
Thanks for the comment you left me today! You're so sweet! I'd love to have had dinner at your place, especially after seeing those gorgeous business cards you made up! Veg chef! Woo!!
ReplyDeleteMmm, the mac & cheese looks so good! I like that kind of pasta with ridges, like UV said! The sauce clings! I hope your recipe wins!
Good idea on the sprouting. You've reminded me to sprout more, since I tend to forget to!
Your macaroni looks so pretty! I am looking forward to seeing your vegan version! I like your idea for sprouting! I have special trays for sprouting that I was given as a pressie, but we always used the jar method when we grew them as kids.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great picture of the mac and cheese. It looks so fresh.
ReplyDeleteI love the curly-Q macaroni! And, thanks for the spout tip - you're a clever girl :)
ReplyDeleteMmmmmh, chipotle mac and cheese... Good luck with the recipe contest. The presentation is very chic. Good luck with the sprouting, too. Although I often eat sprouts and things made with sprouted food, I'm not adventurous enough to try to do it myself.
ReplyDeletehold on. I didn't think you could improve on Mac 'n Cheese but you've done it. gold star.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique idea! I love it!
ReplyDeleteSprouting! Wow, despite even your cut you seem busy!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the veganized chipotle mac & cheese! I'm sure you will win that contest.
