We have guests for several days, so I've been cooking when I get the chance. This pasta salad is delicious, with red peppers, artichokes, tomatoes, kidney beans, cilatnro, scallions and a homemade balsamic vinaigrette. I went heavy on the garlic and used a little more olive oil than usual, given the fact that my company probably wouldn't like a super tangy dressing.
Jorda doesn't like vinegar either, but she's always just under foot when I'm cooking. I give her lots and lots of raw veggies as treats.

Simple dal. Mixed with brown basmati rice.

MooShi with Seitan. What can I say? I make it a lot. I like it better with tofu, but I had seitan in the freezer that was begging to be used.

I got the best chard at the farm stand. I've been using it in everything. I made breakfast wraps and a vegan mango 'lassi' for everyone this morning before I headed off to my personal chef client.

The filling for the burrito was delicious.. lite tofu and tvp spiced with a ton of garlic, onions, fresh basil, fresh thyme, turmeric and some of the ancho chile flax vinaigrette. I filled the burritos with avocado and chard at everyone loved them.
Not pictured is some spanikopita filling I made. I am planning on making that tomorrow... and I'm going to tinker with my cheez recipe some more.
wow, please let me know when you open a B&B! they all look delicious!
ReplyDeletefood looks incredible (as always), Jorda is adorable, and I love the new layout for your blog!
ReplyDeleteI NEED your proposed cookbook...hurry, hurry, hurry
ReplyDeleteWoah! Melody i love your new look here! The layout is tres bien.
ReplyDeleteJorda is adorable. Great photo. i wish she and Mattie could play... Mat likes raw veggies too, but especially if there's a little "sauce" on 'em.
Nice that you have guests, how lucky for them to be with such a stellar hostess, cook and chef.
Love the food you posted, it all looks exceptional as usual...
Hope you have a fun weekend with your family, visitors... and Jorda!
Wow! Your new look is awesome.
ReplyDeleteJorda is adorable. My kids love apples and carrots. My Shiloh is getting a little picky with her choices, but I think it is her age. She just needs littler bites with her teeth. Now Josh, he is a different story. hahaha
Great food once again, and that wrap looks like it is to die for! Your friends are going to be in for such a treat. I think I need to come to your home for some yummy meals.
Oooh, everything is beautiful (and complemented by your new layout!) The chard wraps look heavenly, as does the mooshi. I love your pasta salad, and I for one love a super tangy vinegary dressing. What a sweet puppy- I love looking at her eyes whenever you post pictures of her.
ReplyDeleteMelody, you are so great with food - recipes and presentation. You make plain lentils and rice look fabulous! I am anxiously awaiting the cheez recipe!
ReplyDeleteI love the new layout - much easier to read.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks delish. It inspires me to cook more and cook better.
I'm sending the pooch a virtual ear rub :D
ReplyDeleteyour presentation is getting amazing dear!
ReplyDeleteHow do make your food look sooooo beautiful??? I'm just truly amazed every time I visit your blog. Wonderful work, Melody. I'm such a pig that I'm usually scarfing down my food before the camera's even charged up... and you serve it with such lovely presentation! It's an art :-)
ReplyDeleteI love that Jorda likes some raw veggies! I have a cat who comes begging whenever he hears produce coming out of the fridge.
The food is all beautiful and the avocado/chard burrito sounds absolutely delicious. Just about everywhere in Chicago, you can get an avocado burrito. No one in Ottawa seems to understand this concept and I suffer because of it!
ReplyDeleteCan I be your guest for several days, please?
ReplyDeleteI love your puppy. I love pit bulls, and sadly, at the shelter where I volunteer, the pens are filled with the sweeties. They have such a bad rap and they are such sweet babies.
mmmm, I shoulda known better than to come around hungry! Can you pop over and personal chef me? please bring adorable Jorda with you. :)
ReplyDeleteYour photos look so great. I use to eat cucumbers as chips. Thanks for reminding me to do so, those look great, on the previous entry.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! :) I like the sushi rolls and dal, especially.
