Wheatgrass Juicer Giveaway and Raw Eats!

Image courtesty of 877myjuicer.com

I am so excited to host this Wheatgrass Juicer Giveaway! 877Myjuicer.com will mail you your juicer. To enter, leave a comment telling me why you want it! It's that simple. The contest will be open until January 5th (my birthday!) then juicer will be sent to the winner! Again, this is for a Wheatgrass Juicer. (click on the link to see the juicer).
Raw Thai Noodle Bowl
serves 2
3 large collards, chopped finely OR 2 spiralized zucchini (enough to produce 4 c of veggies)
1 medium carrot, shaved into noodle shapes
2 c mushrooms, sliced and marinated in Braggs hot pepper and black pepper
1 clove garlic
2 inches ginger
4 T dried coconut
1 t toasted sesame oil (optional)
Siracha to taste (or cayenne)
juice of 1 large lime
Braggs to taste
3-4 c water
stevia or other sweetener to taste
1 c cilantro
fresh mint/basil (optional but VERY good)
sesame seeds
black pepper

Chop the collards. I like to chiffonade then so they will be somewhat “noodle like”. I used a julienne peeler to peel the carrots into noodles.

In a blender place the garlic, ginger, coconut, sesame oil, siracha, lime juice, Braggs and water. Blend for several minutes (to get it warm) Add stevia or sweetener to taste. Pour over veggies and top with chopped cilantro, mint, basil and sesame seeds. Taste and adjust seasonings. I like to warm mine gently on the stove and I added a lot of hot sauce, so it really warms me up.

Collard Wrap with Tropical Salsa and a Black Bean Burger (high raw)
Tropical Kale salad with Chia Crackers

Italian Kale Salad

I really just love Kale. It is sooo versatile. The Italian Kale salad had sundried tomatoes, raw 'parmesan', kalamata olives, carrots, garlic and a balsamic/evoo dressing along with fresh parsely and fresh basil.

I have a pretty big backlog of pics, so I will be posting much more than I used to.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you want the juicer!

  2. Please enter me in the giveaway! I started growing wheatgrass earlier this year (with my compost!), but I don't have a juicer, so I didn't know what to do with it besides clip it for my friend's rabbit. It would be really neat to have one and grow wheatgrass again!

  3. OMG, first of all... the food! Those kale salads look amazing!

Second of all, I totally want to enter the running for the wheatgrass juicer! How cool to have a giveaway (I hope they give YOU one, too, for hosting the contest!).

I've been wanting to experiment with growing more microgreens, including wheatgrass--especially since it can be grown indoors/year round. Iowa winters make it tough to get local greens! And I love adding a shot of wheatgrass juice to my green drinks, but there's not even a place to get wg juice in Iowa City--the closest place is over in Coralville.

Hope your area is back to normal after the ice storm! My mom (a teacher) says her district has no school all week... but they got back power, thank goodness!

  4. OMG! Drooling over kale again (an obsession of mine ever since a friend got me hooked in February, never had it before that.)

I would love if you would please enter me for the wheatgrass juicer. :) There are actually many reasons why I would like one. I've been meaning to get one for a while, but every time I turn around, where'd that money go, ya know?

Anyway, my reasons are as follows:

I've been raw for almost two years, but am really kicking up my game now with sprouts, and have been really wanting to make sure I get wheatgrass in daily, which I have not been able to do. This would SO help me do that.

Also, due to my back issues, hubby (Army) having issues with his back and hip, and 2 kids w/scoliosis, there have been several x-rays going around this family. I know wheatgrass is a great detoxifier and helps protect against radiation. So of course I want those I love protected! :D

Also, I've been surrounded by cancer lately. Friends (near and far), relatives (somewhat near and far), and have lost a couple of friends this year to it. (One had brain cancer, the other had breast cancer.) I know wheatgrass is highly oxygenated. I've really been feeling like God is doing this to try and really make sure I take better care of myself. Either way, it's high in oxygen, cancer isn't supposed to be able to survive in a highly oxygenated body, so I want all the oxygen I can handle! ;)

So, good luck with the contest! I hope you get a LOT of contestants! And I think no matter who you pick, they'll love and cherish it forever! :D Best of luck to you on decision day (and your birthday to boot, how cool!) :D

  7. I'd love to juice wheatgrass! Since I hurt my knee, I confess I've gotten a wee bit flabby, so I have lots of plans for changing up my lifestyle in the new year. That juicer would help me a whole lot. PS: Your food pics always blow me away!

  8. Wow! Happy Birthday Melody! My birthday is just a few days before yours! I love having my birthday at the beginning of the New Year and a juicer would be so amazing in my whole family's quest for health. My daughter has Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis which is settled in her eyes, and this healthy lifestyle that we are attempting to transition into is helpful in getting the iritus more controlled, but as with anything, nothing is magic, but having the juicer would help to get those stringy wheatgrasses actually mixed into the blender and into us. We would love to go the whole Ann Wigmore route! We just broke down and got a spendy blender for Christmas. It would be so great to have a wheatgrass juicer to go along with it! I love your site, I'm bookmarking it for help with my own newly vegan/raw route! Beautiful photos! Enter us in the giveaway...havenly@cableone.net Nancy in Boise, Idaho

  11. those kale salads look awesome!

I haven't had wheat grass in ages. There used to be a juice/smoothie bar in town that served wheat grass juice. This was before my vegan, raw interest days. I loved it! some people just took it like medicine but I was so tasty! I had them add it to smoothies, drink it straight up. Amazing stuff! Way better then coffee in the morning.

    Thanks for the contest!

  12. I love your blog! So glad i found you through Rawfu.com

I would be blessed if you would enter me in your drawing for the wheatgrass juicer, however, I hope that if you have someone enter the contest with cancer - I hope that person gets first dibs.

    Have a blessed holiday!

  13. I love all of your raw eats! Yum! And kale is one of my favorites lately as well.

I definitely want to me entered in this giveaway! I want the wheatgrass juicer because I usually buy the frozen shots of wheatgrass and throw them into my smoothies. I know I am not getting the fresh benefits from it and it's $17.00 a box! The only place I can get it fresh in by my in laws house, so I only have it once a week when we go down there. Paul Nison told me that wheatgrass is vital in curing my flare ups. The chlorophyll helps heal the inflammation from the Crohn's. Plus my mom just had surgery to remove breast cancer and is starting radiation soon. I would love to share some wheatgrass with her. With the juicer I can be guaranteed all the benefits! :)

  16. Why I want the Healthy Juicer...

For starters, it is so easy to use AND clean. Two pluses, right there!

Secondly, it's not just for wheatgrass. It'll crush the heck out of any leafy green. I make green juice every morning and love it, but there is soooo much waste. Basically, my juicer just shreds the greens. I would LOVE to be able to extract every last bit of all the living nutrients out of them to really get the amazing health benefits. And, manual juicer = no heat = no enzymes destroyed.

Thanks Melody and Myjuicer.com for this amazing giveaway!

  22. How cool of them to give away a juicer. I've been eying one for a while now and actually just bought a book about it. Enter me for sure.

I love kale too. I wish it were easier to find it here. It seems like it's so often wilty and gross. :(

  23. Your food makes me wanna eat more raw. Especially that kale salad. So beautiful!

Oh, and I'd love to win a wheatgrass juicer. When I started my monthly raw days, I made a habit of stopping by my local juice shop for a wheatgrass shot on those days. But at $2 a shot, it'd get expensive everyday. Or maybe I'm just cheap. But anyhow, I'd love to grow my own and juice it myself.

  28. Hi Melody! Please enter me in the Wheatgrass juicer giveaway! I have been drooling over these for a while now. I have a 5 gallon bucket of wheat berries that was given to me. I grow wheatgrass, but my juicer is horrible at extracting it! I am doing wheatgrass for many health reasons. Mainly I am trying to cleanse all my internal organs, one system at a time. And heal my skin(part of my 100 day challenge goals) The wheatgrass juice is just the ticket to accent all the herbs and raw and cleansing that I am doing. Thanks Melody!

  29. I have a challenge for you...."Edamame Blue Salad" using the following ingredients: edamame beans, spinach, sun dried tomatoes, crumbled blue cheese, red onion, cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, sea salt, black pepper. I bought this salad for lunch at Fresh & Natural food store already prepared- DELISH!! Would like to copycat!!
Vegan would have to substitute the blue cheese, would that change the recipe flavor too much?? It really was a beautiful sight to see, nice colors and would make a great addition to your wonderful photo gallery. Your children are lucky to have a father like you, learning good eating habits in their younger years will be one of their greatest gifts in life!! Great job on the $3.33/a day meals, what an inspiration. Great job on your web site...LOVE IT!
