3 splurges: 1) raw CHUNKY almond butter 2) a raw berry cheesecake that I make (recipe link below) http://make-it-healthy.blogspot.com/2011/02/berry-delicious.html 3) a raw brownie that I make http://make-it-healthy.blogspot.com/2010/11/unbake-those-brownies.html
Berries are my favorite splurge. They're always expensive, and ALWAYS worth it. (In my opinion, anyway.) I splurged today on some raw, local honey at the farmers market. Responsible? Maybe not, but it made me feel a little less like I was sacrificing with my frugal April budget. :)
1. Dried blueberries for the blueberry cornmeal bread in 500 Vegan Recipes. 2. New spices for experimenting with (at present) Thai food. Going to make my own yellow curry. 3. Seeds and stuff for starting my garden, which I hope will end up if not a bargain, less of a splurge by the end of the summer, but it is my first garden....
We are in the vERY beginning stages of going raw and can't wait to dive into your site! We have 4 kids and they love spinach smoothies...haven't tried other greens yet. Thank you for this site and if you have ANY advice let me know.
Probably bulk nuts, esp when they aren't on sale! Or a fresh coconut, which of course we don't ever get in Alaska. I try and buy and stock up only when things are on sale!
