I am totally stoked and a bit scared because I am basically changing everything. I am selling my car, which I am really looking forward to actually. Living in the heart of the city with no car. Wow.. I am amazed at how things unfold in life.
The ONE sad thing, is that I will be leaving my beloved dog with my X. We share custody of her now, and I will still go up and see her once a week overnight, but it is going to be hard not to have her with me like I do now. My X loves her as much as I do, so she will be taken care of well.
I'm moving sometime in the next 30 days.. depending on how fast I can sell my stuff and tie up loose ends here.
I will be one subway stop from Chinatown!.. there is a Trader Joes close by and a Whole Foods really close by my apartment.. it will be interesting to see if I can pull off $3.33 a Day in Boston?
I am so grateful I have this opportunity. My youngest son went to college last week and now Momma's gonna play! Part of my goal with this move is to really stretch my creativity with my photography.. fun fun fun.

Here are some places you may want to check out: there's a place called "Fair Foods," which collects surplus veggies and sells them at $2 for a 10-lb. bag. Check their site here: http://www.fairfoods.org/dollarbag.html Also, the Harvest Coop in Central Square in Cambridge offers bulk foods and spices, and the Cambridge Naturals in Porter Square has some very cheap bulk spices. ReplyDeleteI live 15 miles from Boston, and it's definitely been easier and less expensive for me to be vegan in this area, compared to the suburbs in PA where I moved from. I'm excited to read about your move and the types of places you discover in the city!

Sorry to hear about your dog, but glad to hear that you'll be able to see her often and that she'll still be well -loved and looked after.
congratulations! moving to Seattle was one of the best things I ever did. Now I take the bus or ride my bicycle. I love living in the city!

Let me know if you need any advice and perhaps we can meetup when I'm back east - I'll be there in October and December this year : )

ReplyDeleteYay Boston! There are a few vegan restaurants in that area, or at least there used to be. Boston was where I became vegan.
ReplyDeleteSo sad you have to leave your dog but it it probably easier to find an apartment that way. It's hell to try to find an apartment that allows dogs these days. Good luck with everything!
